The Wolf in the Sheep's Clothing

In this story, I thought the maxim was tricky to find out. Then I realized, the moral was that guile and deceive are all over the world and these methods lead to something terrible. People should always be careful and not trust every single person they see. Hopefully, shortly after the incidence, the criminal will be caught and will be punished. In addition, at the end of the story, the author mentioned that for sometime, the Wolf succeeded in deceiving the sheep. So after the Lamb was killed, the sheep must have noticed it missing and killed the Wolf or punished it.

The Four Oxen and the Lion- Literature

I strongly believe that the maxim of this short story is if you go your separate way because of a dispute among others, it can lead to grieve danger and consequences. In other words, you should stay together with others because its the time when you are most protected from danger or harm. In addition, some people may think that they will survive on their own, when the truth is, those people desperately need friends and organisms to support/help them.

The Fisher and the Little Fish- Literature Fables

I think the maxim of The Fisher and the Little Fish is that you should take any opportunity that you get, even if its not as important as you want it to be. For instance, if you are searching for a job in teaching, and the only opportunity you get is teaching at a day camp, you should take it. In time, this job will turn out to be more important, and you will learn to love it. As in the story, the fisher did not want to give up the small fish because he may never find another fish during this time. All in all, whenever you receive a chance to participate in an activity that you thoroughly enjoy, take it, because others may die for the opportunity that you have.

The Crow and the Pitcher- Literature

I think that the maxim of this story is that if you work hard, it always pays off and if you struggle now, it will be easy in the future. However, if you take the easy way out now, you will struggle in the future.

I believe that the moral or maxim of the short story is that you should not always trust what you hear. There are many guile people in the world and you should never let them control you. Every individual should be assertive and do what they think is right.

Out of all the responses that I read, I learned many new things. However, the most fascinating fact I discovered was how close humans are to chimps and apes. To begin with, I already knew that humans and chimps were cousins and that humans started out as chimp like creatures called homo sapiens. But when I read the information by the Stanford University students, I found out that we have a similar amount of chromosomes; humans have 46 and chimps have 48. In addition, it was surprising to me that our genomes were only 1.2 % different. Moreover, another thing I learned was that a human chromosome is made up of two chimp chromosomes. This shows that sometime, 5 million years ago that humans and chimps were the same organisms. But as time went on, both organisms started to drift apart and that was the process of evolution. All in all, these responses taught me many facts about chromosomes and DNA, including how much humans and chimps/apes are alike.
